Zelaya, A True "Mandela"

The deposed former president of Honduras, Zelaya, was interviewed by Telemundo's Pedro Sevcec in El Salvador, who made every attempt to portray "Mel" as a man of peace. Sevcec asked Zelaya, "mr president, would you be in favor of a military intervention if the diplomatic route doesn't work?" Zelaya replied, "I'm completely against the use of force, and I refuse the use of it even with justification, ...I consider it primitive."

Who would suspect that this man with words of peace and diplomacy is the same man who wanted to own the country by organizing an election, illegally, to change the constitution of Honduras. Who would suspect that this man with such love for "the people" is a close friend of Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez; two men with a reputation for respecting, and supporting, civil and human rights, democracy, and freedom of expression in their own countries. Please. Who would think that this "wonderful" man is the same one who was using resources, and millions, in promoting his "4ta Urna" instead of taking care of those dying from swine flu, earthquakes, poverty, crime, and many other problems that have grown even larger ever since he took office. Not at all. The Zelaya that is flying up and down Central and North America is a man of peace, love, and a new hope for the world to see. He's the Central American "Mandela."

Zelaya, Todo Un Mandela

Zelaya Actua Como El Novio Que No Quiere Entender

Zelaya Is Acting Like The Lover Who Doesn't Get It

Reading about the now deposed president Zelaya and his desperate attempts for attention from the world community, I can't help it but to laugh a bit. Zelaya reminds of that person who doesn't get it that he is no longer wanted. Like the ex-boyfriend that doesn't understand that the girl has moved on and doesn't want anything to do with him anymore. The love interest in this case, Honduras. The desperate ex, Zelaya. Over 80% of Hondurans do not want Zelaya back. A small minority, paid by organizers brought in from Nicaragua, as reported by La Prensa today, is the only group of people who want him back.

But, Zelaya has been flying up and down Central and North America crying for someone to help him get his presidential sash back. He's been working hard, with the help of Chavez, portraying himself as the victim. Zelaya is dying to wear that Presidential sash once more and walk back and forth for Chavez and Castro to enjoy.

But, when the majority of the country's population, and the clergy, doesn't want you back, it's time to get the hint and find love elsewhere, maybe in Venezuela or Cuba. But, if he really loves the people of Honduras, like he's now claiming to, then stay far, far away as your arrival just brings chaos to the country.

CNN Continues in Reporting Innacuracies From Honduras

CNN's Rick Sanchez, while reporting the situation in Honduras, said that "the interim government of President Micheletti was put in effect by the military." That's false and completely inaccurate. Deposed president Zelaya was removed by the military, but under the request of the judicial bodies and congress in Honduras, the same bodies that named Micheletti interim president. In other words, the military is following the orders of the legislative bodies as mandated by Honduran laws.

The reporter that CNN has in Honduras is also passing along inaccurate and one-sided information. CNN ran a longer version of his reporting, during Rick Sanchez' show today, in which the reporter in Honduras says, "we've heard from the demonstrators, and then we heard from the military, with their bullets." That's also inaccurate.

I fail to recognize CNN's agenda is passing along inaccuracies to its world audience. But, it's really disappointing.

Kevin Casas-Zamora Says The United States Should Stop The Farce In Honduras

Mr Kevin Casas-Zamora said today on CNN that the United States should step in and stop the farce in Honduras. He said that countries throughout Latin America, including Brazil and Mexico, should get together and add pressure on Honduras. Obviously he's completely unaware, or perhaps chooses to be, of the realities of what led to the current situation.

Casas-Zamora writes that Central America is falling back into its past of military-controlled governments. "At the very least, we are witnessing in Honduras the return of the sad role of the military as the ultimate referee in the political conflicts amongst the civilian leadership, a huge step back in the consolidation of democracy."

Here's a link to his writings, you be the judge: http://www.brookings.edu/opinions/2009/0629_honduras_casaszamora.aspx

If a country is chastised for enforcing, and protecting, its constitutional laws, how can we call ourselves a democratic and free society.

Who's Behind the Protests in Honduras

It has been suspected by many Hondurans that the rioters involved in creating disruptions were foreigners. La Prensa is reporting the presence of Nicaraguans recruiting people in public areas and paying them three hundred Lempiras (around $16) per day in exchange for their participation in creating violence. Motorcycle owners receive their 300 Lempiras and are encourage to bring a second rider, who will also receive the same amount.

In other words, these aren't protests representing a difference in political views, but rather a "paid for" support for a deposed president who wanted to expand Chavez's communist dictatorship in Honduras.

This Picture Says So Much

This picture says so much about the return of the now deposed former president of Honduras, Zelaya. In an afternoon filled with dark clouds Zelaya flies the skies of the capital Tegucigalpa trying to land his Venezuelan plane. Like poetic justice, the return of Zelaya also brought with him darkness to the Honduran skies.

The very few that support his return had no choice but to return to their homes with empty hopes of receiving "their leader" whose arrival was prevented by the military when they blocked the runway. One has to wonder how many of those are Cubans, Venezuelans, and Nicaraguans sent in to create chaos in Honduras. More than eighty percent of Hondurans reject Zelaya's return to the country. Hondurans are not waiting for Zelaya's return with arms wide opened.

When Zelaya is not around, Honduras enjoys bright, sunny and peaceful days. Upon his return, dark clouds cover the skies of Tegucigalpa, to somehow remind us of what this man represents to the small, yet brave, country of Honduras who against world opinion, and support, is fighting to enforce, and protect its constitution from Chavez's attempts to spread his Castro-influenced communism throughout Latin America.

CNN No Esta Reportando La Verdad

CNN Is Not Reporting The Truth

I was very glad of CNN's coverage of the elections in Iran. They went out of their way to bring videos and pictures sent via Twitter. CNN had all day coverage of the protests against the re-election of president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. However, when it comes to what has been happening in Honduras since the ousting of deposed president Zelaya, CNN seems to be taking a stand of supporting dictators and violators of constitutional law. CNN seems to also be ignoring the connection, and main financier, between Zelaya and Chavez.

I've been following CNN this afternoon as they're trying to cover Zelaya's attempt to land in Honduras and, according to him, take back his post as president. Well, the interesting thing is the way CNN's reporter in the capital, Tegucigalpa, is presenting the events to the world audience. The reporter said "we've heard from the thousands of Zelaya's supporters, and we've also heard from the military and their bullets." Nice way to present the news.

Also, during another break, Don Lemmon, who unfortunately is only passing along info presented to him, talks about the "thousands of supporters marching in support of Zelaya." Well, like they say, "the devil's in the detail." The way the video was shot one can see that there weren't any "thousands" in the crowd. Maybe about a hundred. But, again, it all depends on how the camera is held during the shoot. If one wants to make crowds look big, all they have to do is shoot it from the shoulder height of the crowd and real close. If one wants to show how minuscule the crowd is, the camera is placed above the crowd. Again, the video shot by the CNN camera crew was meant to show the crowd as being very large. But, if one pays close attention, it'd be clear that the crowd was big at all and that the "thousands" were nothing more than a few of no more than one hundred.

Also, CNN is not reporting that the plane that Zelaya being flown into Honduras is Venezuelan. CNN is also not reporting that the biggest financier of Zelaya's mess in Honduras has been financed by Venezuela. CNN is not reporting that Chavez has made numerous threats against Honduras. Chavez has said that he'd bring Venezuelan's military into Honduras. Chavez said recently that if something happens to the Venezuelan ambassador in Honduras, it'd be a declaration of war. Only one other person comes to mind when I remember those threats, Kim Jong Il from North Korea. Chavez and Kim Jong Il are cut from the same cloth; dictators, violators of civil and human rights, oppressors. Oh, and they also have a very sensitive ego. Because Chavez and Kim Jong can't handle any amount of criticism, the first thing they do is shut down all radio/tv/newspapers that criticize them. Oh, then they claim to be "for the people." Right, maybe for those "people" who are willing to sell their conscience, and country, for a few crumbs.

Zelaya Is Staying In Panama

La Prensa is reporting that Zelaya has decided to remain in Panama, temporarily, but didn't mention the circumstances. Maybe he's realizing that his support, and misinformation maneuver, is starting to dissolve. Hopefully the UN, OAS, and the numerous banking and world media is starting to discover the details of what drove the judicial bodies in Honduras to request the military to remove him.

Honduran Embassador In Washington Arrives In Honduras

The Honduran Ambassador in Washington D.C., Dr Roberto Florez, has arrived in the country's capital Tegucigalpa. The ambassador has arrived under instructions from the new president, Micheletti.

The ambassador emphasized that the world is unaware of what has really happened in Honduras and what have been some of the events leading to the removal of the former president Zelaya.

Deposed ex-president Zelaya in Panama

The deposed ex-president Zelaya is in Panama preparing himself to return to Honduras, and according to him and his supporters, be re-instated as president.

The world organizations, and the press, do not realize that Hondurans don't want Zelaya back in Honduras, as an individual or worse, president.

Israel y Taiwan Reconocen Nuevo Presidente Micheletti

Taiwan and Israel Officially Recognize New President Micheletti

Taiwan and Israel have made official their recognition of Roberto Micheletti as the new and official Honduran President.

UN and OAS Threaten Honduras To Reinstate Zelaya

The Organization of American States and the United Nations have threatened Honduras to either re-instate the now deposed ex-president Zelaya within 72 hours, or face suspension from the organizations.

It's unbelievable that these world organizations refuse to investigate what really happened in Honduras, and have gathered to punish Honduras for enforcing its laws and protecting its constitution.

The country is already being punished by world banking and commerce organizations. What's exactly their logic? I don't know.

Hondurans Don't Want Zelaya
It's quite clear that the only ones interested in Zelaya's reinstatement as president is the UN and OAS. Hondurans, more than 88%, do not want Zelaya to return to the country, as an individual, or worse, as president.

OEA y ONU Amenazan a Honduras Sino Restablece a Zelaya

Nadie sabe.

Hondureños No Quieren a Zelaya

Zelaya and Chavez Want Chaos In Honduras

It's quite clear that the now deposed ex-president Zelaya and the Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez benefit from the current chaos in Honduras. It has been reported by local media in Honduras that, prior to the scheduled date of the illegal elections organized by the former president, "experienced rioters" were sent into Honduras from Venezuela with the approval of Zelaya and Chavez. These are the ones causing riots and disturbances around the country. However, these isolated protests, which tend to get violent, is the only thing being reported by the the world media. And this has been Chavez's and Zelaya's strategy all along. As long as there are disturbances in Honduras, these two dictators win. They win because the entire world, due to their unfortunate ignorance or lack of information, don't know the details of what has happened in Honduras. They ignore the details of why the actions that were taken and the real role the military played in removing the former president. The world press has turned their backs to the numerous marches that have been going on in Honduras for weeks. Marches in which Honduran ask for peace and reject the former president's intentions to hold illegal elections for constitutional changes and his numerous abuses of his presidential authority.

Honduras Needs World Support

The situation in Honduras is critical. Not because the now deposed ex-president Zelaya was removed from office and the country, or the isolated protests from some of his few supporters. The situation in Honduras is critical because the entire world, without knowing the realities of recent events, and what brought it to this point, has united to condemn and punish the Honduran people for enforcing their constitutional laws. It seems like the entire world is willing to show support to an individual who was removed for abusing his presidential powers/authority trying to hold a national election he has no power to conduct. It also seems as if the world is willing to support the intentions of the Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez. Communism masked as socialism is the last thing we need in Honduras, or Latin America.

What Can We All Do?
If you really believe in freedom of expression, and a nation's authority to enforce its constitutional laws, then support Honduras in its efforts. Call your ambassador wherever you are. Contact your representatives in your local governments and Congress . Tell them to know the facts of what has really happened in Honduras before they condemn and punish a country for enforcing its laws. Obligating Honduras to put Zelaya back in office will bring greater chaos in Honduras and Central America.

Hugo Chavez Threatens Honduras

Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez, has once again made threats against the people of Honduras for their behavior against his "friend" the now deposed ex-president Zelaya. National newspaper La Prensa reports: Hugo Chavez stated today that an "agression" against Manuel Zelaya will obligate a "military intervention by the United Nations." That's quite interesting. We must be reminded that Chavez had already made threats of bringing the Venezuelan military into Honduras to support Zelaya.

Exactly, how does Mr Chavez think that he'd be able to do such thing? The moment military members from Venezuela step into the country, illegally, and with the intent to establish, and to empower an individual that the country has rejected, it'd be the moment his country has officially declared war against Honduras. I don't think Chavez will dare to do such thing. It's possible, if he in fact has the sufficient "minerals", that he'd use Nicaraguan Daniel Ortega, another one of his ALBA puppets, to enter Honduras and realize his ideals of creating chaos in Honduras.

But, why is it that world organizations like the UN and OAS is not asking what is Mr Chavez's interests in Honduras? Why Honduras? And also, why is it that no one has questioned his constant threats of invading the country with his Venezuelan military? It's hard to believe that someone like Chavez is allowed such abusive behavior against the sovereignty of another country. Why aren't these world organizations questioning his abuses in Venezuela?

President Micheletti Speaks at Central Park

The recently appointed President of Honduras, Roberto Micheletti, spoke publicly at the Central Park in Tegucigalpa. Among many issues, he expressed gratitude to the Honduran people for all their support. He also emphasized that the country will hold presidential elections on January 2010, as already scheduled, and that the title of President will be given to whomever voters decide to appoint as their new president.

Members of the church were also present stating that the only person who can be accused of illegal acts against the country is the now deposed ex-president Zelaya.

Hugo Chavez Amenaza a Honduras

The Reality in Honduras

Deposed President ZelayaThe world is completely unaware of what is going on in Honduras right now. The reality is that "President" Zelaya (pictured) was deposed of the title for trying to hold some sort of elections to, eventually, extend his presidency, just like his "friend and allied" Hugo Chavez has done in Venezuela. But, like the old saying goes "you can figure a few things about a person by whom he/she gets involved with." But, Zelaya's friends wasn't' the only thing bothering Hondurans; it was his actions of removing the top military general who didn't support his intentions.

What Happened
Venezuelan president Hugo ChavezSo, what happened? Zelaya was trying to hold a "consulting the people" election to see if they'd be willing, through constitutional changes, to allow him to be re-elected without any term limitations. Well, under constitutional law in Honduras, the president has no right, under any circumstances, to hold any type of elections. With the financial support of his friend Hugo Chavez, Zelaya brought in the voting supplies and boxes for this election to take place, and sent them to towns across the nation. But, all these "voting supplies" came directly from Venezuela. So, in effect, Zelaya and Chavez were working hand-in-hand to ensure a victory to their intentions.

"Mel" as the deposed president is known around the country, was also using his power to gain supporters, and get rid of opponents, to his agenda. He went ahead and fired the top general who publicly expressed his opposition to the president's unconstitutional elections. Mel fired him, to later rehire him. But, it wasn't because the president had a change of heart. No. Mel was forced to.

It has been reported by a number of small officials that they were victims of pressure from the president's supporters to sign/vote in favor of the president's intentions. Some hospitals refused to render medical care unless a favorable vote was cast right then and there. The complaints of abuse are many.

It has also been reported that Zelaya also had plans to completely disintegrate the Congress, who was against his agenda.

The President is Removed - No Military Coup
Nicaraguan Daniel OrtegaIn the early hours of Sunday, under the orders of the Congress and Judicial bodies, military members went into the Presidential House and arrested Zelaya and put him in a helicopter and flew him to Costa Rica. Once there, Zelaya proceeded to contact Chavez and Daniel Ortega (pictured) for their support. As expected, Venezuela and Nicaragua made their disgust with Honduras clear. Costa Rica allowed Zelaya to portray himself as a victim of a military coup. There was never a military coup. The military worked according to a request dictated by judicial bodies in the country.

Once Zelaya was removed from the country, Congress named Roberto Micheletti as the new interim president. In other words, Micheletti will only serve as president till January 2010 when is the already scheduled normal presidential elections in the country.

Again, there is/was no military coup in Honduras. Congress, and other judicial bodies instructed the military to arrest and remove Zelaya for violating the constitution.

What We Have Now
So, what we have now is a fabricated chaos created by Hugo Chavez who, in days prior to the election day, sent in his "professional riot organizers" to Honduras to ensure a "just in case we don't win" situation. Some Honduran have been suspecting that Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega, who is part of Chavez's group of "friends", has sent troops into Honduras to work together with Chavez's people creating chaos.

A number of protests are happening around the country. However, such protests are being organized by Venezuelans who were infiltrated into the nation. Reporters have been assaulted in the streets. Private property has been destroyed.

The Honduran government is working hard to bring itself back to normalcy, but it seems like the world doesn't want that.

The World Is Not Well Informed
The deposed president is talking to world organizations, including the United Nations, Organization of American States, portraying an image of him being the victim of a military coup. This is not the case. It's a tragedy that the world is uniting to support a man who was trying to violate constitutional law to set himself in power, just like his friend and supporter Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez.

We're hoping that State Secretary Clinton, as well as President Barack Obama, get the correct information and support Honduras in ensuring that Zelaya is not allowed, by force, to return as President.

A victory for Zelaya represents a victory for Chavez and Fidel Castro. The spreading of dictatorships, masked as socialism, is not what we need to spread around Latin America, or the world.
